The Hill Stage!

It was scorchio! The Tour de Tech set out in Mediterranean conditions for the first ride of 2023. Many old faces and several new joiners so we did some intros and it was a fascinating insight into the speed at which the tech sector evolves. New companies formed, new products launched, new funding rounds closed, a SPAC deal and an exit. So much to explore and take in and a reflection of the amazing group of people that are getting on their bikes.
 
The council had been round just in time and filled in many potholes for which we were really grateful. We gathered speed down the long ‘Straight Mile Road’ to Horton-cum-Studley working our way towards the bottom of Brill Hill. The view from the top by the windmill is always a great reward for the climb. Some cloud cover provided a little relief form the beating sun and we enjoyed some refreshments and a chance to refill water bottles. Then a winding flat section that led us back to the Talkhouse Pub for a well earned burger feast!

As ever, the conversation flowed exploring the trials and tribulations of start ups and scale ups, exchanging views on investor sentiment. We welcomed Jacques from Link My Ride who gave a pitch to the group and heard from Garth about the exit of Lybrio. Congratulations to both on their achievements.
